i can explain it:

sometimes when someone had a disconnection, he/she will get disconnected from the friendslist, this can happen right away, but also a few minutes later

and the second point is that people ignore, or stand on offline status

i make points, 3 to be exact

1. after someone get disconnected, the person wont always see the friendlist still is disconnected, so you cant chat, but he or she can.

2. then it could happen that someone put him or herself on offline to avoid any chat, and maybe for a private reason, and forgets to put him or herself back to online status, to chat.

3. some stupid people put you on ignore and tease you chatting with you while you cant say a thing

for all points, i have an idea

for points nr 1 and 2:
warn the user for being offline whenever this person chats in whisper, but don't disable the chat
like when someone is on away, that style
example:

offliner says: back
it show this:

Quote:

You are offline, this person cannot reply.
{Username}:Hey i'm back.

for point 3:
maybe same as nr 1 and 2, but also could just make it work the same as what happens to the one ignored, so that the ignorer will see this when chatting

You are ignoring this user, you cannot send any messages to this person.

makes chatting some easier and let us know something's wrong

why not just put yourself on offline or ignore the person that put you on ignore?

Being able to talk to someone you have put on ignore or when afk is actually a very bad idea. It has no use other than to troll.

If you are offline, ignoring, or away when you chat, your status autosets to online and ignore is disabled, if whispering an ignored person.

They really need to make the ignore list longer.

I've been suggesting this for years. Still hope they change it. Few times I've been assaulted via PM's after an RA battle, and the guy put me on ignore, then spammed me. Luckily, though, his violent PM's and extremely abusive behavior got (COUNT THEM, THREE) accounts he PM'd me on banned.

saw the title and thought... why does this need changing it works ok.... however ur suggestions are actually very nice and neat. Wouldnt take much Dev work to implement (which tbh is the limiting factor on all gw updates) esp. like suggestions 1 and 3, 2 is kinda that users fault, the others would be very nice.

Or just un-ignore someone who's been on on their for a while.
Theres a 99.9% chance that they forgot about you and aren't going to be whispering you anytime soon.

Then just add the new person to ignore.

I like this idea I have pmed alot of people while I was offline and didnt realize it then was confused as to why they were not responding, and I have also been pmed by an offline person and had them wonder why I cant respond to them.
